I hate trying to be clever in these bios. It always seems so forced, so here are the basics. I’m a 30 something year old native Texan who doesn’t have a discernible Texas accent. I’m an unrepentant do-gooder which means I don’t make a great deal of money in my field but at least I can sleep at night…usually. I’ve worked in the field of reproductive health, human sexuality and HIV/AIDS for over 10 years now and I love what I do despite the fact that it is occasionally gut wrenching and insane.
I’m a recovering Catholic which means I have a highly developed taste for blasphemy and heresy and yes, I know all about the crucifix dildo on Blowfish.com. Of course that also means I’m not easily impressed by arguments of the “All religious people are dumb sheep” kind especially since some of the most intelligent people I’ve known are religious and some of the most idiotic wastes of human flesh I’ve ever met were atheists.
I am a proud bleeding heart liberal, a pro-porn femi-nazi in high heels and a skirt, and a hater of small minds and small souls. I speak English, Spanish and a decent amount of French.
I’m married to a terribly adorable man who knows his way around computers, power tools, shotguns and electrical wires and together we are raising a gigantic, 17 lb. gray Maine Coon named Leo, a "rotten shepherd" puppy named Faith and a pit bull mix puppy named Jill. At this point in time those are the only children I want or need. We’ll see what happens in 5 years.
One of these days I hope to travel the world and visit all the places I’ve only read about in books or seen in movies, skydive, break down a wall with a sledgehammer, build a deck, shoot straight, learn to ply a bullwhip and make a perfect tarte tatin, though not necessarily in that order.
